Howa M1500

Howa 1500

At its heart lies a

forged-steel receiver and bolt

, built to last. The two-lug bolt locks up solidly, using a traditional 90-degree throw for smooth cycling and reliable chambering. This robust action supports a

cold-hammer forged chrome-moly barrel

, manufactured to exacting headspace standards — guaranteeing consistent chamber alignment and long barrel life.

From v armint calibres (.223 Rem, 6.5 Grendel, .22-250) to classic short-action rounds (.308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor) and full-power long-action cartridges (.30-06 Springfield, .300 Win Mag, .338 Win Mag), the 1500 is offered in mini, short, and long-action configurations. This versatility makes it a go-to platform for hunters targeting small game, deer, or large game — and for shooters building precision rifles or custom long-range setups.

Trigger control comes courtesy of Howa’s proprietary

HACT two-stage trigger

, factory-preset but known for an ultra-clean, crisp break and minimal creep — ideal for precision shooting. The rifle also includes a

3-position safety

, allowing both trigger lock and safe bolt lock/unload modes for field-safe handling. Magazines range from internal 3-5 round capacity to detachable box mags of 5 or 10 rounds, depending on configuration.

What sets the Howa 1500 apart is not just its specs — it’s the

outstanding value and flexibility

. Few rifles in this price bracket deliver factory-grade accuracy (often sub-MOA with quality ammo), a proven bolt action, and broad aftermarket support for stocks, chassis, barrels, optics rails, and upgrades. Whether you’re building a dedicated hunting rig, a varmint rifle, or a precision tactical setup, the 1500 serves as a highly customizable foundation.
